Dreams to Reality to Imagination: Divine Progression

While praying for the first year students at my school today with a group of second year students, I heard a friend’s prayer and got a new perspective on a Scripture I have read many times.  Brace yourself.

John Cookson said something to the effect of “allow their dreams to become reality”.  That got me thinking, what if all of our dreams became true?  What if every time we dreamed something, it was a revealing of Heaven’s perspective on the past, present or future?  What if we dreamed and everytime we dreamed, we wrapped our faith around it and it became reality?  I think at some point dreaming, not just night dreams, but aspirations, would become prayers that God answers.  Then we would have to start to just make stuff up and see if the Lord would make those things happen.

Maybe He would actually do what He said when He said, “Whatever you ask in My Name, My Father will do.”  Maybe, our imagination, even our most insane, rediculous, assanine ponderings could become powerful, global atmosphere-shifting prayers.

This is the verse that I am starting to understand a little better:
Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or imagine, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory…Ephesians 3:20f

When I was in Kenya this past Spring, I preached at a church out of this Pauline prayer.  I got this revelation while we were preparing for the service.  “If we can imagine it, He can do it.”  As the Creator, this ought to be an assumption, but the logical doesn’t always affect the practical, but I’m starting to realize that no creation can be more creative than the Creator of the afformentioned creation.  Meaning that we cannot think of something that He has not already considered.

When our dreams start to become reality, we will have to resort to just aggressively and violently asking for the craziest things we can think of.  What about the psalmist who ask quotes the Lord to have said that if He is asked for the nations, He will give them?  That is truly bold.

Maybe some day we will pray big prayers.
Maybe some day we will stop dreaming dreams that float away and begin dreaming reality.
Maybe some day we will ask AND receive.
Maybe some day we will forget how things have been and live out how things can be.
Maybe some day we will stop waiting for a revolution and just start one.

Dream big friends.
